Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were NN Group NV (AS:NN), which rose 0.61% or 0.27 points to trade at 44.30 at the close. Aegon Ltd (AS:AEGN) added 0.19% or 0.01 points to end at 5.36 and Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) was up 0.14% or 0.08 points to 58.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which lost 5.93% or 46.40 points to trade at 736.40 in late trade. ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) declined 5.70% or 33.60 points to end at 555.40 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) shed 2.27% or 1.01 points to 43.39.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 68 to 34 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.87% or 0.61 to $69.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.76% or 0.56 to hit $73.19 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 2.30 to trade at $2,525.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 101.32.
