Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon Ltd (AS:AEGN), which rose 4.80% or 0.28 points to trade at 6.16 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 3.63% or 1.12 points to end at 31.95 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) was up 1.55% or 0.90 points to 58.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which lost 3.03% or 15.60 points to trade at 498.80 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 2.84% or 0.44 points to end at 15.18 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) shed 2.49% or 1.84 points to 72.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 61 to 35 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.01 to $72.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.26% or 0.20 to hit $75.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 2.66% or 73.05 to trade at $2,676.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.79% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP fell 0.66% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.63% at 105.01.
