Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR), which rose 0.76% or 0.40 points to trade at 52.74 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 0.75% or 0.03 points to end at 3.50 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) was up 0.73% or 0.72 points to 99.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which lost 3.52% or 5.60 points to trade at 153.60 in late trade. Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) declined 3.10% or 1.86 points to end at 58.10 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) shed 2.40% or 16.60 points to 675.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 78 to 23 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.05% or 0.04 to $78.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $82.75 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.22% or 28.20 to trade at $2,346.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 105.21.
