Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.60% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 7.98% or 0.71 points to trade at 9.61 at the close. Gemalto (AS:GTO) added 2.36% or 0.76 points to end at 32.77 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 0.48% or 0.12 points to 25.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 1.52% or 0.260 points to trade at 16.805 in late trade. Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) declined 1.42% or 0.43 points to end at 29.95 and SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) shed 1.34% or 0.18 points to 13.27.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 95 to 36 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.73% to 13.64 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.57% or 0.32 to $55.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.40% or 0.25 to hit $61.96 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.40% or 5.11 to trade at $1277.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1794, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8957.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.77.
