Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.54% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR), which rose 5.76% or 3.02 points to trade at 55.42 at the close. Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) added 3.01% or 1.68 points to end at 57.42 and Relx PLC (AS:REL) was up 2.60% or 1.08 points to 42.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which lost 23.54% or 6.68 points to trade at 21.70 in late trade. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) declined 14.11% or 19.85 points to end at 120.80 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) shed 4.27% or 26.80 points to 601.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 32 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.77% or 0.60 to $78.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.35% or 0.29 to hit $82.00 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.39% or 57.65 to trade at $2,358.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.04.
