Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which rose 4.43% or 58.80 points to trade at 1,385.20 at the close. Relx PLC (AS:REL) added 0.50% or 0.22 points to end at 44.56 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 0.41% or 0.65 points to 157.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 3.77% or 0.90 points to trade at 22.99 in late trade. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 2.45% or 1.12 points to end at 44.64 and Exor NV (AS:EXOR) shed 2.19% or 2.10 points to 93.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 74 to 28 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.16% or 0.11 to $68.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $72.36 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 8.59 to trade at $2,651.19 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 107.03.
