Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were IMCD NV (AS:IMCD), which rose 0.96% or 1.25 points to trade at 132.10 at the close. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) added 0.56% or 0.60 points to end at 108.60 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 0.55% or 0.85 points to 154.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prosus (AS:PRX), which lost 2.53% or 0.85 points to trade at 32.79 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 2.49% or 0.54 points to end at 21.12 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) shed 1.38% or 2.35 points to 167.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 35 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.16% or 0.94 to $79.90 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.07% or 0.91 to hit $83.94 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.49% or 36.30 to trade at $2,465.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 104.08.
