Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Construction & Materials and Support Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which rose 1.82% or 1.02 points to trade at 57.20 at the close. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) added 1.25% or 0.54 points to end at 43.59 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.11% or 0.23 points to 21.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which lost 3.03% or 4.70 points to trade at 150.65 in late trade. NN Group NV (AS:NN) declined 1.49% or 0.68 points to end at 45.06 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) shed 1.29% or 12.90 points to 989.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 34 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.45% or 0.37 to $82.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.33% or 0.28 to hit $85.36 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.90% or 45.10 to trade at $2,424.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 104.11.
