Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction & Materials, Food Producers and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which rose 1.51% or 1.55 points to trade at 104.50 at the close. Prosus (AS:PRX) added 1.34% or 0.46 points to end at 34.34 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 0.99% or 0.04 points to 3.57 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which lost 2.91% or 34.60 points to trade at 1,153.80 in late trade. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 1.76% or 17.30 points to end at 966.50 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) shed 1.40% or 9.80 points to 692.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 56 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.09% or 0.07 to $80.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.07% or 0.06 to hit $85.27 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.95 to trade at $2,344.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.82.
