Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 4.97% or 7.40 points to trade at 156.40 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 0.47% or 0.70 points to end at 149.20 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was up 0.32% or 2.20 points to 693.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 2.66% or 0.62 points to trade at 22.67 in late trade. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 2.33% or 1.06 points to end at 44.34 and Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) shed 2.16% or 26.40 points to 1,198.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 24 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.49% or 0.38 to $78.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.59% or 0.48 to hit $82.11 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.95 to trade at $2,328.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 104.96.
