Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which rose 1.79% or 24.20 points to trade at 1,379.20 at the close. Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) added 1.32% or 0.31 points to end at 23.73 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was up 1.11% or 6.40 points to 583.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 3.49% or 0.81 points to trade at 22.41 in late trade. Prosus (AS:PRX) declined 2.83% or 1.17 points to end at 40.12 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) shed 2.24% or 1.76 points to 76.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 34 and 16 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 4.41% or 3.40 to $73.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 4.37% or 3.54 to hit $77.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.22% or 32.50 to trade at $2,633.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 102.30.
