Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 14.62% or 3.47 points to trade at 27.21 at the close. Relx PLC (AS:REL) added 1.49% or 0.64 points to end at 43.52 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) was up 1.15% or 0.53 points to 46.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Heineken (AS:HEIN), which lost 10.14% or 9.20 points to trade at 81.50 in late trade. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) declined 3.17% or 3.90 points to end at 119.00 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) shed 2.17% or 0.98 points to 44.28.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 59 to 41 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.66% or 1.28 to $75.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.53% or 1.23 to hit $79.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 5.60 to trade at $2,422.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 104.38.
