Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which rose 2.74% or 14.40 points to trade at 540.20 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 0.92% or 1.50 points to end at 163.90 and Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) was up 0.68% or 0.38 points to 56.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon Ltd (AS:AEGN), which lost 5.83% or 0.36 points to trade at 5.75 in late trade. Exor NV (AS:EXOR) declined 4.00% or 3.75 points to end at 90.00 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) shed 1.88% or 0.79 points to 41.21.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 24 and 4 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.66% or 1.18 to $70.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.99% or 0.74 to hit $73.75 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 5.69 to trade at $2,670.11 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.48% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 106.54.
