Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumer Services and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 1.49% or 0.41 points to trade at 27.94 at the close. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) added 1.32% or 1.55 points to end at 119.30 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.02% or 7.40 points to 735.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which lost 1.99% or 27.40 points to trade at 1,347.80 in late trade. Shell PLC (AS:SHEL) declined 1.69% or 0.53 points to end at 30.63 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 1.68% or 0.28 points to 16.29.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 50 to 46 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.10% or 1.50 to $70.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.64% or 1.22 to hit $73.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 3.60 to trade at $2,680.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 100.53.
