Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 2.38% or 2.95 points to trade at 127.10 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 1.38% or 0.20 points to end at 14.67 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.24% or 0.18 points to 14.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 2.27% or 0.55 points to trade at 23.73 in late trade. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) declined 1.60% or 1.65 points to end at 101.45 and Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) shed 0.88% or 13.20 points to 1,490.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 44 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.60% or 1.12 to $71.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.29% or 0.95 to hit $74.36 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.09% or 29.54 to trade at $2,679.86 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 106.69.
