Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR), which rose 1.00% or 0.56 points to trade at 56.74 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 0.98% or 0.32 points to end at 32.85 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) was up 0.95% or 0.39 points to 41.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which lost 2.21% or 2.45 points to trade at 108.45 in late trade. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 1.92% or 12.30 points to end at 627.70 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) shed 1.65% or 8.30 points to 494.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 57 to 43 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.52% or 0.36 to $68.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.54% or 0.39 to hit $71.93 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.69% or 18.16 to trade at $2,664.46 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.89% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.00% at 105.90.
