Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.05% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which rose 2.85% or 0.46 points to trade at 16.43 at the close. Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) added 2.07% or 0.57 points to end at 28.06 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 1.82% or 0.53 points to 29.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which lost 4.53% or 7.05 points to trade at 148.65 in late trade. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 3.72% or 32.40 points to end at 838.50 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) shed 2.92% or 19.80 points to 658.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 40 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.25% or 0.20 to $81.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.26% or 0.22 to hit $85.30 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 2.25 to trade at $2,462.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 103.73.
