Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which rose 12.02% or 136.80 points to trade at 1,275.00 at the close. ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) added 4.23% or 24.60 points to end at 606.20 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 4.09% or 32.70 points to 832.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NN Group NV (AS:NN), which lost 2.19% or 1.00 points to trade at 44.60 in late trade. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) declined 1.81% or 2.10 points to end at 114.20 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) shed 0.47% or 0.02 points to 3.57.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 29 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.77% or 1.36 to $78.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.82% or 1.45 to hit $81.21 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 16.80 to trade at $2,496.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.49% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 102.72.
