Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 5.75% or 0.137 points to trade at 2.520 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 5.52% or 0.09 points to end at 1.64 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) was up 2.69% or 0.700 points to 26.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc), which lost 1.05% or 0.52 points to trade at 48.41 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 0.97% or 0.860 points to end at 88.040 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) shed 0.63% or 0.21 points to 33.19.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 38 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.61% to 16.82.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.48% or 1.25 to $51.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.71% or 1.60 to hit $60.64 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1228.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1341, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.885.
