Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which rose 3.08% or 32.40 points to trade at 1,083.60 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.61% or 20.90 points to end at 820.50 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was up 1.74% or 2.10 points to 122.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which lost 1.66% or 0.36 points to trade at 21.34 in late trade. Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) declined 1.29% or 0.74 points to end at 56.68 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) shed 0.84% or 0.20 points to 23.74.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 60 to 41 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.44% or 1.13 to $77.15 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.55% or 1.28 to hit $81.09 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.31% or 30.90 to trade at $2,384.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.06.
