Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 8.69% or 59.80 points to trade at 747.80 at the close. ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) added 6.19% or 35.00 points to end at 600.60 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was up 5.42% or 7.35 points to 142.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prosus (AS:PRX), which lost 7.25% or 2.79 points to trade at 35.63 in late trade. Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) declined 2.51% or 1.38 points to end at 53.60 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) shed 0.78% or 0.25 points to 31.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 29 and 17 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.07% or 0.05 to $74.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.14% or 0.11 to hit $76.62 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 3.34 to trade at $2,651.36 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.77% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 108.12.
