Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 4.00% or 0.222 points to trade at 5.776 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) added 2.52% or 0.730 points to end at 29.680 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 1.78% or 0.69 points to 39.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which lost 5.02% or 1.23 points to trade at 23.26 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.62% or 0.04 points to end at 2.25 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) shed 0.84% or 0.31 points to 36.57.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 74 to 56 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.76% to 11.70.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $72.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.79% or 0.64 to hit $81.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 1.90 to trade at $1206.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1772, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8942.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.69.
