Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Prosus (AS:PRX), which rose 7.89% or 2.85 points to trade at 38.90 at the close. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) added 5.01% or 2.07 points to end at 43.40 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 4.73% or 1.05 points to 23.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shell PLC (AS:SHEL), which lost 4.28% or 1.31 points to trade at 29.32 in late trade. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) declined 1.11% or 1.75 points to end at 155.35 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) shed 1.03% or 0.32 points to 30.85.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 24 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.15% or 1.50 to $68.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.89% or 1.38 to hit $71.52 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 5.05 to trade at $2,689.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 100.31.
