Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.51% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 2.97% or 4.15 points to trade at 143.65 at the close. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) added 2.88% or 1.28 points to end at 45.67 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 1.54% or 0.24 points to 15.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 1.71% or 0.49 points to trade at 28.15 in late trade. IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) declined 1.23% or 1.75 points to end at 140.25 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) shed 1.05% or 0.66 points to 62.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 47 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.12% or 1.57 to $75.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.96% or 1.54 to hit $79.95 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.71% or 16.85 to trade at $2,392.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 104.21.
