Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 4.76% or 1.02 points to trade at 22.46 at the close. Prosus (AS:PRX) added 4.57% or 1.57 points to end at 35.78 and Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) was up 2.39% or 0.54 points to 23.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relx PLC (AS:REL), which lost 0.91% or 0.40 points to trade at 43.54 in late trade. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) declined 0.87% or 0.38 points to end at 43.11 and Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) shed 0.76% or 10.60 points to 1,375.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 54 to 45 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.36% or 0.96 to $71.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.39% or 1.02 to hit $74.23 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.75% or 20.00 to trade at $2,672.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 100.27.
