Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 2.73% or 1.42 points to trade at 53.42 at the close. Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 2.30% or 2.00 points to end at 88.84 and Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) was up 2.12% or 0.50 points to 24.13 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.52% or 2.320 points to trade at 89.900 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.74% or 0.04 points to end at 2.37 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) shed 1.19% or 0.260 points to 21.640.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.09% to 11.68.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.26% or 0.18 to $68.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.25% or 0.18 to hit $73.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1221.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1559, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8892.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.10.
