Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.31% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 3.07% or 0.45 points to trade at 15.18 at the close. Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) added 2.55% or 36.80 points to end at 1,477.60 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 2.49% or 0.37 points to 15.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shell PLC (AS:SHEL), which lost 1.54% or 0.48 points to trade at 30.30 in late trade. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) declined 1.16% or 0.29 points to end at 24.79 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) shed 1.05% or 5.40 points to 508.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 38 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.10% or 0.07 to $68.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $72.28 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.69% or 18.51 to trade at $2,657.69 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 105.81.
