Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.19% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 5.00% or 5.80 points to trade at 121.80 at the close. Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) added 2.78% or 39.00 points to end at 1,440.80 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) was up 2.42% or 1.09 points to 46.07 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Heineken (AS:HEIN), which lost 1.55% or 1.08 points to trade at 68.80 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.34% or 0.32 points to end at 23.63 and Shell PLC (AS:SHEL) shed 0.84% or 0.26 points to 30.78.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.90% or 0.63 to $69.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.76% or 0.56 to hit $73.06 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 6.44 to trade at $2,674.34 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 106.16.
