Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which rose 1.57% or 0.43 points to trade at 27.86 at the close. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) added 1.42% or 1.50 points to end at 107.25 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 1.34% or 0.59 points to 44.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL), which lost 1.92% or 0.86 points to trade at 43.96 in late trade. Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) declined 0.93% or 0.48 points to end at 50.86 and Aegon Ltd (AS:AEGN) shed 0.89% or 0.05 points to 5.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.32% or 0.27 to $83.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.08% or 0.07 to hit $86.53 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 7.10 to trade at $2,331.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 105.53.
