Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Exor NV (AS:EXOR), which rose 1.51% or 1.40 points to trade at 93.85 at the close. NN Group NV (AS:NN) added 1.33% or 0.60 points to end at 45.60 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.24% or 9.80 points to 799.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prosus (AS:PRX), which lost 2.30% or 0.77 points to trade at 32.45 in late trade. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) declined 1.11% or 1.30 points to end at 116.30 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) shed 0.49% or 0.26 points to 53.12.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 65 to 34 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.87% or 0.68 to $77.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.35% or 0.28 to hit $80.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.01% or 25.30 to trade at $2,482.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 102.32.
