Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.04% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 2.85% or 4.10 points to trade at 147.75 at the close. ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) added 1.81% or 12.20 points to end at 687.40 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 1.17% or 0.19 points to 15.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which lost 1.89% or 1.92 points to trade at 99.78 in late trade. Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) declined 1.43% or 0.41 points to end at 28.23 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) shed 1.10% or 0.53 points to 47.48.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 42 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.19% or 0.14 to $75.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.38% or 0.30 to hit $79.57 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.81% or 67.30 to trade at $2,323.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.74% at 104.82.
