Investing.com - The upcoming launch of Microsoft Corporation's (NASDAQ:MSFT) AI hardware slate, Copilot + PCs, is predicted to provide moderate tailwinds for the tech giant, according to a flash note from Jefferies.
Analysts expect significant improvements to core performance to be a more substantial driver than AI in the near term.
Secondly, they note that seven vendors will release Copilot + PCs at launch, with Microsoft's Surface being the one to watch. Microsoft has claimed that these models are significantly faster than their predecessors, boasting longer battery life as well.
Lastly, Microsoft anticipates that AI PCs will account for about one-fifth of all PCs sold over the next year.
Microsoft has chosen to initially withhold its Recall feature, one of the main AI features of Copilot + PCs, to ensure proper 'quality and security'. It will initially be available in preview to testers in the Windows Insider Program.
