Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.87% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which rose 2.81% or 0.55 points to trade at 20.10 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 2.00% or 0.460 points to end at 23.450 and Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) was up 0.80% or 1.90 points to 240.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 3.74% or 0.850 points to trade at 21.860 in late trade. America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) declined 2.61% or 0.380 points to end at 14.160 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) shed 2.42% or 16.27 points to 655.78.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 142 to 140 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.90% or 11.30 to $1247.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.53% or 0.26 to hit $49.33 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.54% or 0.28 to trade at $52.49 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.24% to 18.8317, while EUR/MXN fell 0.22% to 20.9154.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 97.75.
