Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 3.97% or 10.080 points to trade at 264.050 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 1.66% or 0.520 points to end at 31.840 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was up 1.41% or 1.10 points to 79.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO), which lost 1.74% or 1.760 points to trade at 99.270 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 1.79% or 0.230 points to end at 12.620 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) shed 1.93% or 0.850 points to 43.130.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 76 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.92% or 12.20 to $1331.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.62% or 1.20 to hit $44.55 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.33% or 1.10 to trade at $46.07 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.52% to 18.5791, while EUR/MXN fell 0.46% to 20.4822.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.94.
