Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 5.77% or 0.960 points to trade at 17.430 at the close. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 3.87% or 3.070 points to end at 82.210 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa, SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 2.34% or 0.900 points to 39.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which lost 3.17% or 2.72 points to trade at 82.99 in late trade. Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) declined 2.19% or 2.770 points to end at 124.000 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) shed 2.05% or 0.310 points to 14.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 60 to 59 and 3 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.64% or 7.80 to $1202.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 5.70% or 3.08 to hit $50.91 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 5.20% or 3.08 to trade at $56.02 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.13% to 14.9138, while EUR/MXN fell 0.37% to 16.0871.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 98.25.
