Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 5.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT), which rose 1.75% or 0.490 points to trade at 28.420 at the close. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 0.62% or 1.18 points to end at 192.81 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) was up 0.20% or 0.190 points to 97.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which lost 11.76% or 14.260 points to trade at 107.010 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) declined 10.84% or 12.250 points to end at 100.750 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 9.99% or 1.970 points to 17.740.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 164 to 127 and 17 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.20 to $1224.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.70% or 1.05 to hit $60.62 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.80% or 1.30 to trade at $70.77 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.52% to 20.1654, while EUR/MXN rose 1.00% to 22.9169.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.71% at 96.49.
