Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Telecoms Services and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 1.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which rose 2.18% or 0.53 points to trade at 24.87 at the close. Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) added 1.66% or 2.55 points to end at 155.88 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD) was up 1.42% or 2.91 points to 208.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA), which lost 4.05% or 0.95 points to trade at 22.50 in late trade. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) declined 3.88% or 5.13 points to end at 127.00 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) shed 3.86% or 0.46 points to 11.47.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 133 to 109 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.25% or 6.05 to $2,461.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.20% or 1.75 to hit $81.46 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.58% or 1.32 to trade at $85.05 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.22% to 17.70, while EUR/MXN rose 0.56% to 19.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 103.44.
