Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:CHDRAUIB), which rose 2.32% or 3.22 points to trade at 142.24 at the close. Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) added 1.68% or 0.42 points to end at 25.39 and Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) was up 1.33% or 0.42 points to 31.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA), which lost 4.57% or 6.61 points to trade at 137.89 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) declined 4.00% or 10.49 points to end at 252.03 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) shed 3.63% or 1.15 points to 30.51.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 111 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.53% or 13.10 to $2,446.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.71% or 0.58 to hit $80.86 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.33 to trade at $84.75 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.57% to 17.97, while EUR/MXN rose 1.15% to 19.59.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 103.91.
