Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Telecoms Services and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB), which rose 3.23% or 5.69 points to trade at 181.99 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 1.98% or 6.25 points to end at 322.25 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was up 1.66% or 3.20 points to 195.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA), which lost 3.63% or 1.450 points to trade at 38.470 in late trade. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) declined 2.84% or 3.95 points to end at 135.00 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) shed 2.75% or 19.20 points to 678.06.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 169 to 121 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.69% or 8.40 to $1215.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.40% or 0.96 to hit $67.80 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.32% or 1.72 to trade at $72.49 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.19% to 18.6118, while EUR/MXN fell 0.45% to 21.7030.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.45.
