Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Becle SA (MX:CUERVO), which rose 2.44% or 0.740 points to trade at 31.090 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 2.35% or 1.300 points to end at 56.550 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 2.19% or 0.410 points to 19.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL), which lost 3.70% or 0.550 points to trade at 14.320 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 2.88% or 9.71 points to end at 327.55 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) shed 2.60% or 1.350 points to 50.580.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 166 to 147 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.46% or 5.70 to $1225.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.63% or 1.89 to hit $70.03 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.35% or 1.10 to trade at $80.31 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.72% to 18.8871, while EUR/MXN rose 0.05% to 21.7146.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 95.37.
