Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Financial Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA), which rose 5.54% or 3.62 points to trade at 69.16 at the close. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) added 5.32% or 0.59 points to end at 11.68 and Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) was up 4.35% or 1.32 points to 31.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA), which lost 4.91% or 2.86 points to trade at 55.39 in late trade. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) declined 3.87% or 4.91 points to end at 122.68 and Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) shed 3.67% or 6.38 points to 167.78.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 116 to 107 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.16% or 52.25 to $2,363.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.98% or 0.76 to hit $78.35 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.02 to trade at $82.42 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.04% to 18.44, while EUR/MXN fell 0.07% to 20.00.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 104.15.
