Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 5.17% or 1.000 points to trade at 20.350 at the close. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) added 2.92% or 0.48 points to end at 16.91 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) was up 1.25% or 0.84 points to 68.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 3.27% or 20.45 points to trade at 605.00 in late trade. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) declined 2.60% or 5.72 points to end at 214.28 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) shed 2.48% or 0.560 points to 21.980.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 193 to 95 and 18 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.35% or 4.60 to $1334.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.68% or 0.43 to hit $63.98 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $67.37 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.00% to 18.6778, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 22.9992.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 89.77.
