Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which rose 5.06% or 0.38 points to trade at 7.89 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) added 2.09% or 0.45 points to end at 21.95 and Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) was up 1.68% or 2.82 points to 170.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB), which lost 3.03% or 3.23 points to trade at 103.51 in late trade. Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) declined 2.65% or 0.60 points to end at 22.03 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) shed 2.02% or 0.69 points to 33.52.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 141 to 81 and 17 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.42% or 10.80 to $2,552.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.77% or 0.57 to hit $73.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $77.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 18.99, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.02% to 21.14.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 101.24.
