Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 2.32% or 6.06 points to trade at 267.00 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 1.83% or 8.26 points to end at 459.37 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) was up 1.56% or 0.33 points to 21.46 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which lost 2.58% or 3.260 points to trade at 123.030 in late trade. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) declined 2.39% or 2.66 points to end at 108.58 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) shed 2.05% or 0.490 points to 23.390.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 155 to 84 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.19% or 15.49 to $1286.21 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.29% or 0.15 to hit $52.03 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.93% or 0.54 to trade at $57.38 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.31% to 18.1910, while EUR/MXN rose 0.94% to 21.3749.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 93.23.
