Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services, Healthcare and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 2.38% or 0.320 points to trade at 13.750 at the close. Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC) added 1.70% or 0.820 points to end at 49.000 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 1.65% or 3.890 points to 241.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB), which lost 3.38% or 1.000 points to trade at 28.620 in late trade. Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB) declined 1.81% or 3.990 points to end at 216.250 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) shed 1.55% or 0.240 points to 15.320.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 68 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.24% or 2.60 to $1092.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.86% or 0.83 to hit $43.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.89% or 0.94 to trade at $48.59 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.08% to 16.1490, while EUR/MXN fell 0.77% to 17.6965.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 97.69.
