Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.06% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which rose 1.42% or 1.210 points to trade at 86.400 at the close. Compartamos, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GENTERA) added 1.21% or 0.330 points to end at 27.510 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 1.16% or 0.390 points to 33.960 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which lost 1.90% or 0.610 points to trade at 31.530 in late trade. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) declined 1.72% or 0.350 points to end at 20.010 and Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) shed 1.68% or 6.330 points to 367.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 56 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.19% or 2.20 to $1175.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.28% or 0.17 to hit $60.34 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.15 to trade at $65.00 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.34% to 15.5773, while EUR/MXN fell 0.47% to 17.5675.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 95.17.
