Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Simec, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:SIMECB), which rose 4.83% or 2.630 points to trade at 57.030 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) added 2.46% or 1.020 points to end at 42.500 and La Comercial (MX:LCMRUBC) was up 2.34% or 0.45 points to 19.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 3.40% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.840 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) declined 3.22% or 1.090 points to end at 32.810 and Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) shed 2.85% or 0.340 points to 11.580.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 85 to 74 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 1.46% or 18.60 to $1258.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.89% or 0.43 to hit $47.88 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 0.73 to trade at $48.55 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.91% to 18.4378, while EUR/MXN rose 0.06% to 20.6865.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.68% at 95.19.
