Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 3.38% or 9.040 points to trade at 276.400 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 2.01% or 0.280 points to end at 14.110 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 1.41% or 0.520 points to 37.380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 2.94% or 12.770 points to trade at 421.000 in late trade. Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB) declined 2.34% or 4.720 points to end at 197.590 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) shed 1.97% or 3.370 points to 168.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 75 to 51 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.12% or 1.40 to $1188.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in May rose 0.30% or 0.14 to hit $47.48 a barrel, while the May Brent Oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.10 to trade at $55.90 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.01% to 14.9282, while EUR/MXN rose 0.04% to 16.3464.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 97.24.
