Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Health Care, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 1.89% or 5.010 points to trade at 270.040 at the close. Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) added 1.19% or 1.220 points to end at 104.000 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 1.16% or 0.370 points to 32.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB), which lost 3.63% or 2.330 points to trade at 61.930 in late trade. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 3.22% or 0.460 points to end at 13.710 and America Movil L, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) shed 2.18% or 0.350 points to 15.720.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 60 and 3 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.03% or 0.40 to $1170.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in May rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $45.60 a barrel, while the May Brent Oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.01 to trade at $54.38 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 15.2850, while EUR/MXN fell 0.03% to 16.2809.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 99.36.
