Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 4.87% or 0.600 points to trade at 12.900 at the close. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) added 1.62% or 1.28 points to end at 80.12 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) was up 1.39% or 1.470 points to 107.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 4.62% or 21.250 points to trade at 428.000 in late trade. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) declined 4.57% or 1.380 points to end at 28.770 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) shed 3.68% or 0.550 points to 14.380.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 50 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 2.56% or 30.60 to $1165.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 2.06% or 1.04 to hit $49.72 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 1.11% or 0.67 to trade at $59.81 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.91% to 15.4819, while EUR/MXN rose 0.20% to 16.7913.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.36% at 97.70.
